NJ Disability Benefits Website Redesign Offers More Accessible Tools
EAST OF HANNOVER, NJ, April 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The World Institute on Disability (WID), along with the Kessler Foundation, are pleased to announce the release of their new New Jersey Disability Benefits 101 (NJ DB101) website. The new design site features upgrades in functionality, appearance, and improved accessibility. An early version of NJDB101 was originally released and funded by the New Jersey Division of Disability Services in 2007.
Disability Benefits 101, a project of WID, provides tools and information on employment, health coverage, and benefits for ten states, including New Jersey. The Kessler Foundation helped provide funds for the redesign of the state-specific website.
The modified website highlights upgrades for easier navigation and accessibility from all types of devices. “This free, comprehensive online resource empowers people with disabilities and those who support them to make informed employment decisions. NJ DB101 provides the ability to find accurate information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, about social security benefits, health care, etc. -use, intuitive source,” said Mercedes Witowskiexecutive director, New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities.
The site’s new navigational structure quickly guides users to the content most relevant to their situation, such as “What benefits can I get?” or “Benefit Planning Estimators.” Users can now also customize and save frequently used content as favorites.
