ANNAPOLIS, MD—On day two of his six-day East Coast tour, Governor Larry Hogan made several stops in Salisbury to highlight the state’s investments in local workforce development initiatives and infrastructure upgrades. , and to honor local healthcare workers.

Arcon training center. After participating in the official groundbreaking ceremony for the newly completed Animal Health Diagnostics Laboratory earlier in the day, Governor Hogan toured the Arcon Training Center, which offers training in welding and metal fabrication. The facility began operating in 2015 with funding from the Maryland Energy Administration’s Maryland Offshore Wind Workforce Training Grant program, and continues to be funded by an EARN grant from the US Department of Labor. Tribute to healthcare heroes. The Governor stopped by TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital to thank and present a citation to local healthcare workers for their dedicated efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Water infrastructure improvements at Salisbury Regional Airport. Governor Hogan also toured Salisbury Regional Airport, which received more than $3.5 million from the state for critical water infrastructure upgrades. The funding has expanded the water supply to improve capacity throughout the airport.
